The Alluring beings dwell within the waters but are often capable of taking on the visage of a human to walk or dwell temporarily on land. Examples: Mermaids, Sirens, Silkies, Kelpie, Octomers, etc.

 BASE WEAKNESS

​

  • Dehydration - As aquatic-based beings, these creatures tend to lose hydration faster than non-aquatic creatures when out of their habitat. When dehydrated, these creatures not only become rather flaky but also weaker and will need to make weekly visits to their aquatic habitats to refresh themselves. While drinking plenty of water helps, it's not the same as being in the perfect pH-balanced environment.

 

  • Water Exposure - Prolonged exposure to water will cause these creatures to revert to their true form, which may prove unfortunate when in the middle of town, engaged in a spar on dry land, attempting to escape from an attacker, or encountering a paranoid fisherman..

 

  • Heat - Aquatic beings do not fare well in high heat, especially when without water, as this not only contributes to their dehydration but can burn them if it's due to sunlight exposure. Burns for these creatures take a little longer to heal without magical aid, and if in the heat too long this can lead to severe harm and even death for the aquatic creature.
