In this world, the established systems of law enforcement faced extreme challenges as times changed. More supernaturals grew increasingly comfortable revealing their identities and abilities. The old laws regarding crimes no longer held sway, and most law enforcement agencies found themselves ill-equipped to adapt. The inability and reluctance of world leaders to confront these perils head-on only exacerbated the crisis. The emergence of aberrations only worsened the situation.

The police were the first to falter. Police stations across the globe became ghost towns, with many criminals and homeless individuals claiming them as their own. After the police, other branches of law enforcement quickly followed suit, leaving society vulnerable to chaos. Governments, paralyzed by fear and indecision, watched helplessly as the fabric of order frayed. In millions of cities, the larger the city, the worse the crime and decay, leading to a state of post-apocalyptic ruin. Some cities deteriorated to such an extent that residents within the veil risked leaving its safety, hoping to find refuge elsewhere for themselves and their families.

A special branch of military known as Omega Red, patrolled many streets for a prolonged period, attempting to maintain city integrity and aid those in need, but their methods were often extremely aggressive as they felt the need to combat those they faced. Many cities bore the scars of wars fought within the veils, between inhabitants, the military, and criminal factions, leaving them desolate and haunted by the specter of death. Some cities were completely destroyed by aberrations drawn to the magic unleashed during the battles.

Many veils fell, leaving the ruined cities to be reclaimed by nature once more. It was only after so many lives were lost and cities were consumed by growing chaos that it became glaringly apparent the government needed to recognize the urgent need for a new, specialized force.

The Realm Defenders Agency emerged, established by the government. They were not traditional or conventional law enforcement. They were Agents of our realm, many with backgrounds in combat service. This law enforcement entity supplanted the old police, FBI, National Guard, Border Patrol, Coast Guard, and most other common law enforcement agencies, ranking just below the military and those ranking above the military. Over many years, the cities that remained standing would return to order under their vigilant watch.

In response, the government took decisive action, birthing the RDA, which became a formidable force of law and order. This elite cadre of agents was equipped with state-of-the-art technology, transcending the limitations of conventional enforcement. Their mandate? To combat the ever-evolving threats posed by supernatural entities and aberrations that plagued the veil, as well as to address common crimes that the police force once handled before the fall, the Realm Defenders Agency was formed.

Even so, when an aberration breaches the veil or enters the realm, many citizens may mobilize to protect their cities, and the RDA will not hinder their efforts. However, during the confrontation, they may endeavor to ensure the safety of those nearby or check for casualties afterward and assist citizens in seeking medical help at the hospital. It is understood that defeating an aberration will require more than just the RDA, even if lives may be lost in the process. The city must stand; the realm must stand.

From there, branches of the RDA spread out, rising swiftly from the ashes of a broken system. Erecting its centralized underground headquarters throughout cities and towns that still stood around the globe, the RDA became a symbol of hope. These agents were outfitted with black suits, each carefully crafted. Though they mostly wear suits, it is not uncommon for them to dress in more relaxed clothing, still professional and in the theme of black. They may also wear tactical suits and gear, but they do not wear any form of camo, as that is reserved for the ranks of the military. The chief and higher-ups are responsible for enforcing the uniform. Badges must be worn while on duty (unless undercover). With their RDA badges and black suits, they stood out as icons.

During the tumult of societal upheaval, it's essential to note that the Realm Defenders Agency did not supplant the role of Omega Red. While their mandate encompassed maintaining order within the veiled cities and combating supernatural threats, they operated in tandem with existing military structures.  In Howling Hills, there are no military bases, and Omega Red doesn't makes appearances anymore, especially in cities with RDA bases, due to those cities being stable. This collaborative approach ensured a comprehensive defense strategy, with the military addressing external threats while the RDA focused on internal security and protection against the unseen forces lurking within the veil. Together, they formed an unyielding barrier against the encroaching darkness, standing as bulwarks of defense in a world teetering on the brink of chaos even though they are two completely separate entities.

Mirroring the jurisdiction of traditional law enforcement, the RDA's primary objective was clear: to restore order to the chaos threatening civilization, protect its citizens, and prevent the spread of crime to ensure everyone's safety. In short, their mission was to Protect, Serve, and Defend our realm. However, it was the suits themselves that truly set these defenders apart. Crafted with a fusion of Magitech and cutting-edge research, these suits provided not just armor but a lifeline against the encroaching dangers beyond the veil. Activating the Magitech within, these agents became guardians of the veil, their very presence ensuring the safety and longevity of those sheltered within its protective embrace.

The Realm Defenders Agency stands as the city's ultimate guardians for now. There are no military bases located in Howling Hills and Omega Red does not show their faces much anymore as the cities with RDA base seem to be stable. Each agent who dons the suit embodies the relentless resolve to enforce the law and safeguard the community. Despite their profound understanding of the veil's importance and their unwavering dedication to its preservation, the agents of the RDA find themselves barred from accessing its secrets. While they possess unparalleled prowess in safeguarding the veil and its inhabitants, they remain unaware of its genesis. In the face of uncertainty, their commitment remains steadfast. As long as the veiled cities endure, so too shall the vigilant watch of the Realm Defenders Agency.
